At Home With Homebodii: Ludi Delfino
When shooting our new Bohemian range in Palm Springs, we got to sit down with model Ludi Delfino and talk all things fashion, beauty, and work!
Ludi is a businesswoman, a model, and a wife. Working for major brands such as REVOLVE clothing, whilst also running her own swimwear label, Ludi's fun Brazilian personality shines through her work.
1. What was your Coachella weekend like - what was your favourite part?
My Coachella weekend was magical, as it always is. It is one of the best festivals in the world. Months before, I start to get excited about driving out to the desert, getting to play dress up and seeing so many amazing bands and DJ's in one special place. The first weekend is really crazy. So many of my friends fly in from all over the world. There are tons of wild parties, so you end up arriving at the festival a lot later than planned. This is why for the past three years I can't help myself so I go back for weekend two. Weekend two is much more chill, because you got all of the craziness out of the way the weekend before now you can actually focus, enjoy the music, food and scenery. It truly has the best energy.
2. Was shooting with homebodii in the desert like anything you have done before?
No, this was my first experience shooting right after partying for 4 days in a row in the desert! I take my job very seriously, so I took extra special care of myself on Sunday. I made sure my day was very chill compared to the others. I made sure I stayed hydrated and got at least 8 hours of sleep; it's the most important thing for me. Overall I would do it again in a heartbeat ... I had so much fun shooting with the homebodii crew, they are such amazing people. I always say that Australians are just like Brazilians. They have a lust for life that not many other countries have.
3. If you had to choose one beauty product to use forever, what would it be?
At the moment I'm obsessed with this DNA REPAIR SERUM from healthy cell AC-11, but ever since I was little I've been obsessed with creams so choosing just one is pretty much impossible for me. I love trying new products and seeing how it makes my skin feel.
4. What is your night time beauty routine?
I wash my face with a cleanser, making sure there is no eye make-up left from a day of shooting. Once my face is clean I like to use a toner. Then I apply an eye cream and apply a natural DNA repair serum. That's my every night routine, but 2-3 times a week I make sure that I use a mask as well. One of my favourite masks is the NU SKIN clay pack.
5. What is your favourite book?
I love any book that is empowering. I read lots of self-help / business books. Since I model all day and at night I'm a co-owner / designer in a bikini brand, I like to try and cut down on my stress so I enjoy reading books on how to better myself. I just finished a book called "You Are A Bad Ass" and now I'm reading "Creating Money".
6. What is a secret talent you have?
All of my talents are pretty well known ... I don't think I have a secret talent. Life of a model!
7. Tell us a little about how you got into modelling.
I was super tall, skinny, and very shy as a kid, so my mom decided to put me in modelling class with the hope that I would get used to being in front of people (and to help my posture). This was in my home town of Criciuma, Brazil. I did so well in the class after the 3 month course they wanted me to go to Sao Paulo to meet with the big agencies! Luckily my career took off pretty fast. I moved to Sao Paulo and started traveling to Japan, China, Korea, etc. After that I worked all over Europe and then eventually in the USA. This was the last place I ended up for modelling. I instantly fell in love with this country. Once I moved to Los Angeles I knew right away I wanted to make it my home. It took a while to build up my clients here, but now that I have it's been amazing. I love the California lifestyle because it's so similar to how we live life in South Brazil.
8. You do a lot of different jobs - modelling, working with REVOLVE, you run your own bikini line - what is it like to manage so many different things as a woman who has to stay in top shape for her job?
I try to always have a balance in my life. I'm always looking for things that will reduce my stress. I meditate at least once a day. Read tons of self help books. I love yoga and pilates when I can fit them in. I eat as clean as possible every day. I'm blessed to have a husband who is an amazing cook! He cooks the best healthy food for me almost every night. I believe you can't diet - it has to be a way of life. Of course sometimes in life I slip up but mostly I just eat clean, healthy food.
9. What is your ultimate fashion tip?
I think less is more with fashion. On those days that you are not sure what to wear, just a cool pair of jeans and white tank with pumps or even some sneakers will always do the trick.
10. What is your favourite thing about being at home?
I love just hanging out with my husband. We have the best time together.
